About Us

Our Supperclub

Gringo Supperclub started in August 2024 as an idea to cook for strangers in our home and we weren’t even sure anyone would turn up! After being featured in the Edinburgh Minute, 12 strangers came to our house for dinner on 19th October and it turned our lives upside down.

Watching strangers come together in our home and get to know each other has been fantastic to watch. we’ve seen people making future plans and swapping numbers and as a result of the success, we’ve kept adding more and more dates to the calendar!

We currently offer two different formats to our events. We offer an 8 course tasting menu inspired by the flavours of Latin America as well as an interactive Argentine Asado experience in our garden with a live fire cooking demonstration.

Outside of our home we have branched out into selling empanadas as market stalls as well as private event catering.

Who are we?

We are a couple with an obsession for food and travel. Having spent time in Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina, we wanted to bring these flavours back with us to share and give people a unique experience that they maybe haven’t had before. Our name Gringo is a wee joke. When in Latin America everyone assumes we’re from the US and so call us gringos, entonces somos Gringos!

Cooking Classes

We offer two types of cooking classes, please see our booking form for available dates. Classes are £65pp

The Taco Cooking Class

  • Aguafresca de Jamaica, a refreshing hibiscus drink

  • Chicken Al Pastor

  • Quesabirria Tacos (Braised beef and cheese)

  • Blue and Yellow Masa tortillas from scratch

  • Salsa Roja, roasted tomatoes and chipotle

  • Salsa Verde, jalapeno and tomatillo 

The Veggie Taco Class

All of these can be made Vegan

  • Aguafresca de Jamaica, a refreshing hibiscus drink
  • Jackfruit Birria Quesadillas
  • ‘Peruvian inspired’ BBQ Cauliflower

  • Blue and Yellow Masa tortillas from scratch

  • Salsa Morita, a spicy and smokey red salsa

  • Aji Verde, Lime, Coriander & Jalapeño Aioli

FAQs

Here’s some information that you might wish to know

How do I book?

Our events go on sale 1 month before their advertised date at 8am. e.g 10th Aug event would go on sale at 8am on 10th July. These are all listed on the dates section of this website. At 8am on booking day, the booking form on this website will be updated and then you can submit your booking request. It is advised to get in early as the last few events have sold out by 8.30am.

Cooking Classes go on sale in blocks periodically, it’s best to sign up to our mailing list to find out about them

How much does it cost?

Our evening 8 course tasting menu events are £80 per person.

The Argentine Asado events are £90 per person, this includes a number of premium cuts of meat as well as a more interactive experience in our garden grill set up.

Cooking Classes are £65 per person

Can you cater to dietary requirements?

We will try our best to accommodate any allergies and dietary requirements, please include them on the booking form and we can discuss what’s possible. Please note we do not offer substitutions.

This is a home kitchen when not being used for a supper club it is not allergen controlled so trace elements of allergens may still be present. We ask our customers to exercise their own judgement on the severity of any allergies.

We also ask to notified only in cases of allergies and intolerances.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Whilst we understand that people’s plans can change, we want people to be certain they can come to our events. We buy everything in to order and unlike a restaurant, we don’t have another opportunity to sell bought ingredients.

Upon booking, we charge the full fee upfront and this is non-refundable* with exception to where we need to cancel an event.

* Should you need to cancel, please give us plenty of notice, by doing so you give us time to find a replacement and if we do that, we will refund you. If you cancel within 48 hours of the event and we find a replacement, your refund will be subject to a £10pp cancellation fee. This is to reflect the cost of the admin during a busy period where we are mid-preparation for the event.

Do you permit children or pets?

This is an adults only event so no children are permitted.

We don’t permit any pets as we have a cat and a dog of our own and we would like to keep the peace. For any allergy sufferers, we do a deep clean on the day of the event and the pets themselves are kept away from guests to avoid any food theft.

Do we need to tip?

Tipping is entirely optional and should only be given where you think we have earned it. Tips are always appreciated and not expected.

We are the basement flat 7b of Grosvenor Crescent. Please do not turn up here without a reservation. This is our home and we are generally always accommodating but this is a scenario that is not appreciated thank you.
